Following the International Integrated Care conference in Prishtina organised by AQH in February 2017, Debra Stevenson AQH Team Leader and Dr Agim Krasniqi, Head of MFMC in Lipjan, were invited to deliver an oral poster presentation at the 17th International Conference on Integrated Care entitled ‘Building a platform for integrated care: Delivering change that matters to people’. In line with the themes of the conference our presentation was entitled ‘Integrated Care in Kosovo: Challenges for Primary Health Care’.
The conference took place 8-10 May 2017 and was attended by more than 1000 participants from across the globe. Sessions at the conference that were of particular interest for the project included:
- How to design and implement integrated care (presentations of country experiences organised by the European Commission)
- Implementing integrated care (plenary session chaired by the International Foundation for Integrated Care)
- Putting the patient into integrated care (presentations from service users and patient representatives)
- Preventing and managing chronic disease: engaging and empowering people, and;
- Managing Diabetes
