On World Diabetes Day, Kosovo’s Ministry of Health, in partnership with the National Institute of Public Health (NIPHK) and supported by the Accessible Quality Healthcare (AQH) project, hosted a roundtable under the theme “Breaking Barriers, Closing Gaps.” The event focused on advancing diabetes care and awareness across Kosovo.
Key speakers included Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Dafina Gexha-Bunjaku, NIPHK Director Dr. Adnora Nurboja, Peja’s Health Director Mr. Petrit Loci, and the Association of Diabetes Patients of Peja (ASDP), alongside healthcare professionals and AQH representatives.
Dr. Gexha-Bunjaku highlighted the urgent need for better diabetes awareness, prevention, and support, noting the disease’s significant impact on global health, whereas Dr. Nurboja emphasized collective action in improving prevention, diagnosis, and care.
The event was organized as part of AQH’s mandate to improve healthcare access and quality in Kosovo.
