Nine family doctors in Gjakova have completed a specialized training program in abdominal ultrasonography. The program aims to improve local healthcare services by enabling earlier diagnosis and treatment of abdominal and thyroid conditions.
Through this intensive, accredited program, the newly certified doctors gained hands-on experience in ultrasound diagnostics, allowing them to detect health issues sooner, thus reducing complications and improving patient outcomes across the municipality of Gjakova. The training is also aligned with the Administrative Instruction for Primary Health Care 04/2020 of the Ministry of Health of Kosovo, and with the continuous professional development of Family Physicians.
Regular evaluations will measure the ongoing impact of this initiative on patient health outcomes and inform future needs. The training, part of the project “Raising the Quality of Health Services and Improving the Health of the Population of Gjakova Municipality,” was supported by the Accessible Quality Healthcare (AQH) project.
