The project’s Quality of Care study included an assessment of communication and counseling skills used during clinical consultations and recommended that this is an area where further improvement should be made. In response, AQH appointed a national consultant-Dr. Yllzim Dyla who is a Master Trainer for Family Medicine, to develop a short training module on Communication and Counseling for clinical staff. A two-day training module was developed and was delivered to the first group of doctors and nurses at Hotel Afa- Prishtina on 22-23rd of November 2016. The training included principles for effective communication and the six steps of the counseling process and were based on the National Family Medicine training curriculum. Participants were provided with a Toolkit for Communication and Counseling developed as part of the Module materials. The ‘Communication and Counseling’ module was accredited by the CME Board.
