The 5th International Public Health Conference –“Behavioral determinants of health and disease in countries of the European Region” was held on the 9th May 2017 in Tirana. The objective of the conference was to address the main issues related to behavioral determinants of health and disease in transitional societies of the Western Balkans and in other countries of the European region and the focus of the conference was on the major behavioral/lifestyle factors including cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption, drug use, physical activity, sexual behavior and dietary habits.
AQH supported a group of 14 participants to attend the conference, including representatives of the Health Education and Health Promotion (HE/HP) institutions from the national, regional and municipal level, as well as 2 representatives from AQH project. Three presentations from the group supported by AQH were approved by the conference secretariat:
- Ariana Bytyci from AQH project presented on: Knowledge, Attitudes, Practices and Behaviour on Non-Communicable Diseases, Kosovo 2016; at Plenary Session 1
- Dr. Teuta Demjaha, Advisor to the Minister of Health presented on: Smoking among teachers in elementary schools in Macedonia, at Plenary Session 2, and
- Dr. Florie Miftari from NIPH presented on: Malignant diseases of breast and female genital tract reported at National Institute of Public Health of Kosova, 2012-2014; at Plenary Session 3
