In the last meeting of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities’ Collegium for Health and Social Welfare, on 4 December 2024, chaired by Dr. Izet Sadiku, Director of Health in the Municipality of Prishtina, discussions revolved around major happenings related to health and social welfare in municipalities.
Keynote presentations included Shkëlzen Hajdini, Director of Health and Social Welfare in Lipjan Municipality, who shared best practices in budgeting for Health Education and Promotion, an initiative that shows the commitment to advancing preventative care within primary health services.
AQH’s project team leader, Nicu Fota, updated on the “on-demand” mechanism for supporting new municipalities in implementing project interventions, with a focus on sustaining initiatives already begun in municipalities engaged earlier.
The meeting went on with a presentation on an overall assessment of the trends in the quality of care in the primary health institutions, with actionable recommendations on future improvements. Another topic discussed deal with challenges in accessing essential support and services for vulnerable children and their families, thus demanding more serious responses.
The meeting served a platform of experience sharing and collaboration for the improvement of health services.
