On 24 October 2024, the Accessible Quality Healthcare (AQH) Project held the second Steering Committee (SC) meeting of the project’s third phase. SC members and the AQH team gathered to review progress, discuss strategic priorities, and outline plans for the upcoming year, with a strong focus on sustainability and alignment with Kosovo’s national health strategy.
SC Co-chair Peter Sidler from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) underscored the importance of consolidating achievements as the project moves toward a handover stage and the commitment to maximize sustainability. “I hope this meeting will help guide our impact over the remaining period,” he said.
Dr. Naim Bardiqi, General Secretary of the Ministry of Health, emphasized AQH’s alignment with Kosovo’s National Development Plan. He noted that a strategic document for the Kosovo Primary Health System (KPSH) has recently been finalized and is awaiting technical approval.
In this third phase, the AQH project is prioritizing three key areas: consolidating achievements with partners and national institutions, expanding operations to new municipalities, and ensuring long-term sustainability.
The meeting concluded with a summary of achievements and a presentation of the operational plan for the upcoming year, setting the path for AQH’s continued impact in Kosovo’s healthcare sector.
