Dr. Katrina Obas recently successfully defended her PhD at Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH). She collected and worked with data from a cohort study within the AQH project and found that:- Poor nutrition (85%), physical inactivity (70%), obesity (53%), and smoking (21%) were common risk factors for cardiovascular diseases among patients visiting the Main Family Medicine Centers in Kosovo – Moderate to severe depression symptoms remain prevalent (12%) in Kosovo- Hypertension is not a likely causal mediator in the association between depression and cardiovascular diseases
