The international conference on 15th of February introduced participants to the concept of integrated care as a mechanism for improving quality. International guest speakers included Dr. Juan Tello from WHO; Dr. Viktoria Stein from International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC) and Mr. David Kelly, former Director of Social Work, Housing and Health for West Lothian Council in Scotland.
The guest speakers shared their experiences of developing integrated care services and the event provided a valuable opportunity to exchange information and ideas. More than a 100 conference participants were drawn from a variety of interest groups – including central government, local government, the non-governmental sector, and the international donor community and participation was accredited by the CME Board. Attendees included representatives from the SDC supported health projects in Albania and Moldova.
